Do you need to worry about a super virus.

The answer is, NO. One reason is that if a super virus could take over all life forms then it would have, and since no virus has taken over then it can not do so. That reason, however, does not explain why a virus can not take over. This link may go further: http://arxiv.org/abs/1001.3101. The paper I think is a further characterization the emergence of the forced cooperation strategy.

15 Year Pin

The company has changed locations three times and been purchased by a much larger company but I stuck it out. The previous company I was with also changed locations three times and had three name changes and I stuck with them through all three.

Here are some photos of the pin.

H1N1 - 2009

It's all about "herd-immunity". Most people over 49 years of age have an immunity to H1N1 and when the vaccine first came out they were not the first to get the vaccines. Now when plenty of doses are available, everyone is recommended to get it. The fewer people who get H1N1 flu this season means the fewer chances the virus has of mutating to a more virulent strain. Seems I recall that the second year during the great pandemic of the last century was the most deadly year.

Here is a link to the story about "I had a little bird who's name was Inza"

Today I stopped by the Wake County Health Department and visited their H1N1 clinic. The folks there were extremely well organized, very friendly, and I enjoyed the visit. Here is a view of my brand new 'shot-card'. I've not had a 'shot-card' since 1965 when I was in the US Navy.

Who Are You

When I open up my favorite part of the paper (the comic page) this cartoon is one of the ones I usually read. Today's strip was especially good.
